Resorte IV, Bochica and Contrapunto - These fine Colombian Paso Finos are considered the "greats" of the breed, and still are today. Their prepotency and endurance in passing on their winning genetics are evidenced in their offspring being produced currently. These three are the true foundation of the more modern-day Paso Fino Breed across the world, including the United States. They have what it takes….."staying power." Foundation titles should be backed up by foundation genetics. These were not the first Paso Finos in the United States, and therefore not available at the time of selection of the official Foundation Paso Finos named. At the time, there were very, very few first imported; and the selected Foundation Paso Finos so named were chosen  based on that limited selection, limited knowledge and exposure to the Breed that we had  in the United States. The best was not originally obtained or imported to the United States in many cases; but as the United States continued with the breed and received greater exposure to more varied and better Paso Finos, we were able to greatly improve the breed here, producing the elite paso finos of today. Thanks to the Colombian Paso Finos as pictured here, we were able to grow from this.
