Dulce Sueño Paso Fino Competition - Puerto Rico March 6-7, 2010
Photos from the Dulce Sueño Competition, an annual event, held in Puerto Rico March 6, 7 of 2010.
The Dulce Sueño Fair or "La Feria Dulce Sueño" is held annually at this time every year in Guayama, Puerto Rico. It is named after the Paso Fino horse "Dulce Sueño," pictured above, whose name means "Sweet Dream." This fair was instituted in 1979, and this is the 32nd annual event for it honoring the great foundation sire of the Pure Puerto Rican Paso Fino breed.
Dulce Sueño was born in the town of Guayama, Puerto Rico in 1927 (RIP 1941), and owned by Genaro Cautiño, a sugar plantation owner and mayor of Guayama.

The Paso Fino horse is the pride and national sport of Puerto Rico, and when a great fair is instituted and named after an individual Paso Fino, in the town of his birth and homestead of his owner, it is indicative of the critical importance this Paso Fino is to the Pure Puerto Rican Breed.
